On October 6 (the 10th day of the seventh month in the sacred calendar), the members who had confessed their past sins and prayed for repentance for ten days from the Feast of Trumpets reverently held the Sacred Assembly of the Day of Atonement.

Mother gave thanks to Father for allowing the children to keep the Day of Atonement, and prayed for Her children, who had devoted themselves to praying in contrition early in the morning and in the evening for ten days, to be completely cleansed of their sins. Then She reminded them of the love of Father who had sacrificed Himself for His children, sinners, to bring them to the glorious kingdom of heaven. In addition, She repeatedly urged them, saying, “Since you have received atonement for your sins through God’s boundless love, do not fall into sin again. For the rest of your life on earth, lead many souls to repentance with your purified hearts, so that you can prepare to enter the beautiful kingdom of heaven.”

General Pastor Joo-Cheol Kim testified about the sacrifice of Christ who had personally carried our sins, and said with emphasis, “We must be born again completely to have a humble heart and live a godly life by confessing ourselves that we are sinners and throwing away our sinful habits such as arrogance and stubbornness.” Additionally, he urged the members, saying, “Let us realize that the time given to us now is an opportunity for us to repent, and work hard to lead not only our own souls but many other souls to repentance with a sacrificial heart like that of Father and Mother, so that people all over the world will come to our Elohim” (Isa 53:1-11; 2Pe 3:8-13; Heb 12:15-17).

On this day, the members were forgiven for all their sins which they had committed in heaven and on earth. With their hearts purified, they received the fullness of the Holy Spirit of the latter rain, and they prepared for the Feast of Tabernacles with a resolution to lead the whole world to repentance.
