On April 30, the 30th Environmental Protection Movement, Save the Han River! was held in Han River Citizen Park. Over 1,500 members from Gangnam Dongbu Association in Seoul attended this activity. Cleanup activity, which had been held for Geum River, Nakdong River, Gwangju Stream, Haeundae Beach and etc., was held for Han River for the 30th time.
Pastor Ju-Hyeon Kim from the Church of God Headquarters emphasized that water is the origin of every creature and life itself, and encouraged the members to take the lead in saving the dying Han River as watchmen. Congressman Chung-Hwan Kim read the words of encouragement and thanked the volunteers of the Church of God who love water, grass and trees.

Hoping that the Han River can become the true lifeline for the citizens, the volunteers showed a performance of pouring mineral water into the Han River from the Cheonho Bridge.
After the performance, all the attendants picked up waste in the Han River Citizen Park. They cleaned every place, picking up even pieces of glass, cigarettes and so on.
Yeong-Suk Jahng (35) who cleaned the river park with her family said, Im very happy that my children can have the practical education for protecting environment. Jeong Shin (64) who attended the cleanup activity for the first time expressed her impression, saying, Im very impressed to see many young people caring for the environment. Ill attend as many cleanup activities as possible.

The members of the Church of God have taken the lead in letting people know how serious the environmental pollution is. They will continue to protect environment by reducing garbage and separating waste, so that they can keep the environment clean.
