On March 2, the Semester Opening Service for University Students 2014 was held at the gymnasium of the Okcheon Go&Come Training Institute. Along with the service, lectures on campus life were also prepared. A day before the new semester began, over 2,500 students in the nation strengthened their spirits of faith, and gained helpful information for a meaningful campus life.

Through the service, Mother awakened the university students to have the pride that they are the protagonists of the prophecy, “Your troops will be willing on your day of battle. Arrayed in holy majesty, from the womb of the dawn you will receive the dew of your youth” (Ps 110:3), and added, “Be clothed with the words of God in the days when you are most powerful and wise, and become the necessary young adults in Zion and society by taking the lead in the gospel and good deeds.” Mother also encouraged them, saying, “Joshua destroyed Jericho—the impenetrable fortress that blocked the way to Canaan, with a loud shout, depending on the words, ‘Do not be terrified; be strong and courageous, for I will be with you’ (Jos 1:5–9). The same mission is given to you as well. You may go through various hardships in the life of faith and in school, but overcome it, having the belief that God is with you, and enter the heavenly Canaan by shouting the truth boldly.”

“When feeling tired, lonely or lost, those who think of Jerusalem Mother and love Her will receive peace, comfort and wellness. (Ps 122; Isa 66:10–14) What the young adults, who willingly devote themselves to God, need most is love toward Jerusalem Mother. The existence of God the Mother is the news that mankind is waiting for and is amazed at most. With the love for Mother, let’s become messengers who deliver Mother’s love,” said the General Pastor Kim Joo-cheol. Also, he suggested the WOW MOM Movement to spread the love of Mother to all universities and colleges in the world. With a resonant Amen, the students showed their firm will to carry out the movement.

Professors Lee Hye-gyeong and Gwon Hyeok-jin gave guidance to their campus life. With topics, “University & Gospel,” and “Who Are Wonderful Students?” they showed the practical methods for the successful university life, and urged them to become wonderful students who practice God’s great love and save the world.

The students, who were about to begin their new semester after receiving the blessing from God Elohim, were full of hope and determination. “I was afraid of my busy schedule that would overwhelm me when the semester begins. But I’ve realized that I’m not simply just a student but the student of God. When everybody is tired and exhausted, I’ll share the unfailing love of God the Mother,” said Brother Park Jeong-jin from the Yonsei University, making his resolution. “In the past, I spent time at school and church aimlessly. But from today, I’ll set a clear goal, and preach the love of Mother with good deeds and with the courage of a young spirit so that I can achieve the WOW MOM Movement that wows the world with the fact that God the Mother exists, and that Her love is so great,” said Sister Shim Eun-hye from the Gachon University.

Now, the world is being moved by the devotional volunteer service of young adults from the Church of God. Our society needs Mother’s warm and caring love more and more as it loses ethics and egoism prevails. Having the resolution to shine the light in this dark world with the love of Mother, the university students shouted with one mind, “WOW! MOM!”
